Before bringing his unique physical comedy style to Vancouver in 1992, Max Fomitchev got his performing start at age 13 in Moscow, his birthplace, where he was frequently the only deaf performer in advanced classes and competitions. After earning his MFA in Drama, he toured the world with the Zakutok Players and, two years later, chose Canada as his new home.

In his performance of "Rainman", Max depicts the journey of a downtrodden character who recreates a dance with his lost love. Having been deaf since birth and, more recently, a father of two young children, it is appropriate that Max's newest endeavor is teaching sign language for babies in addition to performing in commercials, at festivals and schools, while also teaching workshops in mime and drama.
