When Kevin Bruce founded KBAM! in 2006, his mission was to grow arts audiences for the future by initiating young people into the thrills of quality live performances. Since then, KBAM! has booked more than 11,000 performances and workshops, inspiring students and their teachers across Canada and the US.
Both a booking agency and production company, KBAM! has built a loyal roster by working closely with artists who feel called to develop shows for young audiences in schools.
With about half of its many multi-talented artists, KBAM! has developed new works for school audiences, covering a wide variety of music genres, from jazz, rock and blues to classical and world beat. With over 40 years’ experience working in the performing arts at a professional level (over 25 of them in the young audience sector) , Kevin is well-positioned to program, curate, and produce effective performances for schools.
KBAM! has also created several in-depth day-long residency programs for schools in square dancing, African dance, improvisational theatre, and song writing.
In 2009 Kevin Bruce was named Agent of the Year by the BC Touring Council.
In 2014 he was the first non-Albertan to be honoured with the Rhoda Taylor Award by the Arts Touring Alliance of Alberta for his contributions to touring performances for schools and young audiences in that province.
When not working, Kevin can usually be found attending live performances or riding his bicycle for crazy long distances and up steep hills.
